Cashmere basic

Cashmere is obtained through the combing of the undercoat of the resilient cashmere goat, which thrives in the mountainous plateaus of the Himalayan region. The undercoat, known for its softness and thickness, provides effective insulation against freezing temperatures that often plummet below -40 °C. These distinct climate conditions contribute to the unique qualities of cashmere fibers. Raw cashmere is acquired by combing the undercoat during the spring and summer months. It undergoes an extensive manual processing phase to produce cashmere yarn, which is then used in crafting sweaters and scarves. Interestingly, it takes wool from three to five goats to create a standard-sized sweater

How to select cashmere clothing?

In addition to considering color and size, pay special attention to the number of plies (layers) in the cashmere yarn used for the garment. This factor indicates the clothing’s suitability for different weather conditions. Generally, more plies translate to warmer clothing. Two-ply cashmere sweaters, the most common in our collection, offer year-round comfort. Our thickest sweaters, featuring 6 to 8 plies, are designed for the coldest months, ensuring you find warmth and style in our product range.
